I’ve just thought of a new definition of the word Brexit   It stands for Bridge Excites !!!

We’re off and running

October 24, 2018 8:46 pm | Published by

Phew. It’s been the most incredible and enjoyable journey of our lives. We started off some 18 months ago, with a completely blank piece of paper, with the heading: New Bridge Experience for Everyone. We are really hopeful (and quietly quite confident) that we’ve achieved our goal, Time will tell if we’re right

The Beta test has started

July 31, 2018 11:02 am | Published by

It’s been a long …. very long slog, but at last the Beta test is out. We enlisted a group of existing iBridgePlus players, and around 50 have been kind enough to offer and take part in the test. So far the news is most encouraging. Most users report that although it is quite different from a classic Bridge game, they are enjoying the experience, and enjoying the new challenges that this game imposes on them. Quite a few have added the words ‘addictive’ and ‘compulsive’ to their comments, which is music to our ears....

Compilation of the App Animations

August 29, 2017 11:15 am | Published by

We’ve had such fun! In order to brighten up the app, we decided to have some ’emotion’ animations at the end of games, to indicate a win, draw and loss. We enlisted the amazing skills of an animator, Dennis Sisterson, who was immediately attuned to our wavelength. He’s come up with three great characters, and has produced some amazing, fun short clips. Touch on the link  to play a compilation of these … we hope you’ll enjoy them. Once the app is launched, we will ask our users to come up with suitable names for...

Level 4 – are you good enough for this?

June 19, 2017 1:40 pm | Published by

And this is it!  The level that sorts out the men from the boys. Here you will need to bid to the maximum …. every single hand. In normal Bridge you score the same when you bid 1 Spade, making with 2 overtricks (+90) as you do if you bid 3 Spades just making it. Standard Mini Bridge is the same. For bidding part score you get 50 Pts bonus, plus trick value, so for making 9 tricks in Spades you’d score 140 Pts. In WiZBridge+, if 9 tricks are ‘on’, then you have to...

Level 3 – the opponents start to interfere!

June 19, 2017 12:57 pm | Published by

This level exposes you to having to defend a contract that the opponents have declared. On some of the hands, they will have the majority of the points (20+), and they will ‘call’ a contract. All you’ll see is your hand, and you’ll know partners point count, but you won’t see the hand. As on levels 1 & 2, you are competing with the Robot, so make sure that you restrict opponents to making as few tricks as you can … because Robot surely will! Now … ready for some excitement? Here we are also...

Level 2 – Basic Bridge concepts introduced

June 19, 2017 11:35 am | Published by

This will be the ideal level for the complete novice who wants to learn about the fascinating game of Bridge, or the Bridge student who wants to practice and improve. The nearest thing to ‘classic’ Mini Bridge, here your decision is influenced by the possible bonus points that could be earned. For example … you think that you could make 9 tricks in Clubs. That’s  OK … until you realise that making only 8 tricks in No Trumps will actually score you more points. There will be loads of in-app documents, help files and Info...

Level 1 – Entry level to WiZBridge+

June 19, 2017 11:28 am | Published by

In Level 1 you’ll be playing old-fashioned Whist … with a difference. You’ll be shown ‘partners’ hand, and you choose the suit which will produce your side the most number of tricks. If no suit stands out, consider choosing No Trumps. Before deciding, have a look at the ‘point’ count of your opponents … this will give you a good idea as to where the ‘high cards’ are most likely to be. Now all you have to do is play the cards. You control both yours and partners cards …. but remember! At all times,...

Mini Bridge with a difference!

June 19, 2017 10:48 am | Published by

We’re well under way with the new app, and we’ve allowed  our imagination to go wild. Traditional Mini Bridge requires the ‘declarer’ to ‘bid’ either a part-score (in other words, make 7 tricks or more) or a ‘game call’ (make 9 tricks in No Trumps, 10 tricks in Hearts or Spades, and 11 tricks in Clubs or Diamonds) We’ve taken basic Mini Bridge as a starting point … then we’ve shaken and stirred it … and hope we’ve come up with FOUR exciting levels, each one slightly different, and each one providing a unique cerebral...
